Issue the model of Risk Management in
Petrochemical projects with focus on
Construction Phase

Abstract:
Project risk is an uncertain event that has positive or negative effects on
project objectives. These indefinite factors could affect on the achievement
of huge project goals. In this basis, project risk management includes
measures to identify, analyze and respond to uncertainty has significant role
in maximizing desired results and minimizing negative results. In this
research, by using expert opinions and Delphi method in three steps and
Evaluation of potential risk in previous studies, risk items have been
classified based on source of risk and risk effects on project objectives.
Nature of this research was an exploratory study and in phase of structure
is a case study about project construction of 13th Olefin.
The effect of each risk on project objectives has been analyzed and
prioritized using direct interviews and completed questionnaires by
managers and professionals in petrochemical construction projects.
The most significant risks include: lack of owner liquidity, the inadequate
financially of contractor, the compressed schedule, sanctions/war, inflation,
mistakes in timing and sequencing of activities, contractor Managerial
weaknesses In order to overcome the negative impacts, some response
actions has been issued that are including: providing financial planning and
cash flow, materials and resources planning, measurement of earned value
and the installation of managerial system for the record of facts and the
history of projects for future.
